چکیده
Background: Many intrathecal adjuvants are being used with local anesthetics to prolong the intraoperative anesthesia and postoperative analgesia. Clonidine buprenorphine known potentiate effects of anesthestics. Aims Objectives: This study was designed compare duration analgesia as well sensory motor block onset, hemodynamic changes, perioperative complications between clonidine when an adjuvant hyperbaric bupivacaine. Materials Methods: A randomized double-blind for 80 patients undergoing lower abdominal surgeries limb Group B receiving 50 mcg C 15 mg bupivacaine 0.5%. Student’s t-test Chi-square were comparing data. Results: The time onset post-operative significantly higher in group compared group. In present study, incidence bradycardia hypotension (P<0.05). Conclusion: Addition potentiates analgesia, block, has a longer analgesic effect clonidine.

متن کاملComparison of intrathecal clonidine and fentanyl in hyperbaric bupivacaine for spinal anesthesia and postoperative analgesia in patients undergoing lower abdominal surgeries
BACKGROUND There are many adjuvant used along with bupivacaine for subarachnoid block, but fentanyl and clonidine are commonly used as adjuvant to intrathecal bupivacaine for prolonging both sensory and motor blockade as well as postoperative analgesia in patients undergoing lower abdominal surgeries. OBJECTIVE There is a paucity of studies comparing the efficacy of fentanyl and clonidine as ...

متن کاملComparison of intrathecal clonidine and magnesium sulphate used as an adjuvant with hyperbaric bupivacaine in lower abdominal surgery
BACKGROUND AND AIMS Use of various adjuvants to spinal anaesthesia is a well-known modality to provide intra- and post-operative analgesia. This study was designed to evaluate and compare the analgesic efficacy of clonidine and magnesium when used as an additive to intrathecal 0.5% hyperbaric bupivacaine. METHODS Ninety patients of the American Society of Anesthesiologists' physical status gr...

Background: Among all the spinal adjuvants, clonidine, an alpha-2 agonist has the ability to alleviate both the somatic and visceral pain and is more potent at spinal site, favoring its neuraxial administration. Objective: This study was done to compare the onset and duration of sensory and motor blocks, duration of analgesia, haemodynamic and adverse effects of Clonidine, buprenorhine and fent...
